Right to Work

We are legally required to ensure that all candidates have the legal Right to Work in the UK. Please read the below statement regarding what you need to provide to meet this requirement.

For ongoing provision to work you MUST be able to provide documentation that proves your eligibility to work in the UK , this can be any of the following documents or combination of documents listed below:

  1. A passport showing the holder, or a person named in the passport as the child of the holder, is a British citizen or a citizen of the UK and Colonies having the right of abode in the UK.
  2. A passport or national identity card showing the holder, or a person named in the passport as the child of the holder, is a national of a European Economic Area country or Switzerland.
  3. A Registration Certificate or Document Certifying Permanent Residence issued by the Home Office, to a national of a European Economic Area country or Switzerland.
  4. A Permanent Residence Card issued by the Home Office, to the family member of a national of a European Economic Area country or Switzerland.
  5. A current Biometric Immigration Document (Biometric Residence Permit) issued by the Home Office to the holder indicating that the person named is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK, or has no time limit on their stay in the UK.
  6. A current passport endorsed to show that the holder is exempt from immigration control, is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK, has the right of abode in the UK, or has no time limit on their stay in the UK.
  7. A current Immigration Status Document issued by the Home Office to the holder with an endorsement indicating that the named person is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK or has no time limit on their stay in the UK, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer.
  8. A birth (short or long) or adoption certificate issued in the UK, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer.
  9. A birth (short or long) or adoption certificate issued in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Ireland, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer.
  10. A certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer.

Additional documentation may be acceptable as per List B (Group 1) & List B (Group 2) which can be found on the Right to Work guidance checklist on the Home Office website.

Opt Out of Working Time Regulations (48hr Week Agreement)

You cannot work more than 48 hours a week on average - normally averaged over 17 weeks. This law is sometimes called the ‘working time directive’ or ‘working time regulations’.

You can choose to work more by opting out of the 48-hour week restriction, by signing this declaration

If you’re under 18, you cannot work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.

I agree, by signing below; that I may work for more than an average of 48 hours a week. If I change my mind, I will give my employer 3 months notice in writing to end this agreement.

There are certain occasions whereby we may not be able to opt you out of this agreement (even if you have signed this declaration) - some job roles, visa restrictions, age etc have limits on the permitted working hours per week. if this is the case we will contact you to advise of the specific requirements.

If you do not choose to sign this declaration you will be restricted to only work a maximum of 48 hours per week averaged over 17 weeks.
